The Mr. Food Test Kitchen is a daily 90-second cooking segment that airs during local network news. Hosted by Howard Rosenthal, the show features quick & easy recipes along with kitchen tips & tricks, cookbook reviews, best food buys, produce picks, and more. Originally founded by Art Ginsburg (aka “Mr. Food”) in 1975, today the Mr. Food Test Kitchen brand brings millions of loyal followers to their syndicated partners through their television broadcasts as well as to their websites and social media platforms.


The Mr. Food Test Kitchen is hosted by Howard Rosenthal who is not only the face of the brand, but also its COO. Howard holds Restaurant Management and Professional Chef degrees from the State University of New York and is the creative visionary of the brand working side-by-side with a growing team of industry professionals. At the heart of the company is its Test Kitchen which has been under the direction of Patty Rosenthal since 1994. Prior to joining the Mr. Food team, Howard and his wife owned and operated an upscale catering company as well as a successful restaurant in Syracuse, NY, A Touch of Broadway.

Howard, who was behind the camera for most of his career with the company, became the face of the Mr. Food Test Kitchen after the passing of the company’s founder, Arthur Ginsburg (aka Mr. Food), in 2012. Art’s son, Steven Ginsburg, continues with the company handling syndication and finance. Together Howard and Steve are honored to carry on the brand’s legacy.

The Mr. Food brand originated in 1975 when Art made his television debut in upstate New York on a local morning talk show. He was the first TV personality promoting practical, “anybody can do it” cooking and his appearances were met with rave reviews. Before long the “Mr. Food” TV segment began syndication and a brand was born. Art’s famous tagline, “OOH IT’S SO GOOD!!®” was registered in 1995 by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office as one of only 25 copyrighted sound marks., a free, recipe-based website, was launched in 1999 and currently houses not only the daily recipes and videos, which are also available through an RSS feed on all syndicated TV station websites, but more than 10,000 recipes along with cooking tips and information.

The Mr. Food brand has published over 55 cookbooks to date, many under its self-publishing division, Cogin, Inc., which was created in 2009. Combined cookbook sales exceed 8 million copies. Mr. Food branded books were one of the first cookbooks to appear on the QVC shopping network. In 2004 the Mr. Food cookbooks made publishing history by selling more than 2 million sets through Oxmoor House’s direct mail continuity program.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) has partnered with the Mr. Food Test Kitchen to author numerous diabetes-friendly cookbooks with another book scheduled to be released in 2018. The Mr. Food Test Kitchen was named the ADA’s best-selling author of 2014 and 2015.

In 2013, the Mr. Food Test Kitchen launched, a website dedicated to providing diabetes-friendly recipes with nutritional information.

The Mr. Food Test Kitchen launched into the world of housewares in 2014 with a line of bakeware. It has since expanded into cookware, kitchen electrics, cutlery, and gadgets which can be found in retailers nationwide.
